Summary: Here, we built a smartphone app to take images of skin moles, pre-process the raw images, and apply image processing tools to determine the Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variegation, and Diameter (ABCD) features of a skin mole. The level of malignancy is derived by machine learning through support vector machine classifiers. The app is made computationally light and reliable in discriminating melanoma cases from benign ones.
